Orthodontic treatment with braces is one of the most popular ways to get a beautiful, healthy smile.

A combination of brackets positioned carefully on your teeth and specially formed wires provide constant gentle forces that move the teeth into the correct position over the course of treatment. And the good news is that at Hallmark Orthodontics, we offer different types of braces to suit your look and lifestyle. Your braces may be bold, with changeable colors, or subtle, tooth colored brackets that are much less obvious.

Orthodontic treatment times vary based on the growth of the patient’s mouth and the severity of the problem. Ask Drs. Hall, Raber, and our team about all the options available for you and how easily you can start on the road to a beautiful smile.

Invisalign aligners give you the ultimate freedom. Freedom to eat whatever you want, freedom to brush and floss normally, and freedom to go through treatment without anyone knowing. Plus, you can even take the aligners out when needed!

Invisalign is a great solution for many people, and Drs. Hall, Raber, and their team have created beautiful smiles for those who want a comfortable and aesthetic way to straighten their teeth. We’re happy to provide Invisalign aligner treatment throughout Indianapolis, Carmel, Westfield, Noblesville, Shelbyville, and Elwood. Schedule a consultation to see if Invisalign aligners are the right fit for you.

What is invisalign®?

Invisalign uses high-tech 3-D computer models of your teeth, guided by an individualized treatment plan, to create a series of aligners to move your teeth into the correct position.

Why should I choose invisalign®?

Invisalign aligners are virtually clear and removable. They give you the benefits of orthodontic treatment while maintaining the ability to eat, drink, brush, and floss normally!

How does invisalign® work?

Each tray has a set amount of tooth movement designed within. You are responsible for wearing the trays all day, removing them only as necessary, in order to get the predicted amount of tooth movement. With every new tray, your teeth will straighten a little more. You will visit our office every 6-8 weeks to monitor your progress and pick up new trays!

How do I start my invisalign® treatment?

Come into our office for a free consultation. Dr. Hall is a certified Invisalign Provider and will be happy to explain whether you are an Invisalign candidate! If you are ready to begin we will use our digital itero scanner and you will be on your way to straighter teeth within minutes!

Drs. Hall, Raber and the team are excited to be using Lightforce braces at Hallmark Orthodontics! Lightforce braces are 3D printed brackets fully customized to your individual anatomy and bite.

With the help of our 3D iTero scanner, we are able to create your orthodontic setup virtually utilizing the LightPlan software. Drs. Hall and Raber have precise control over where your teeth will move prior to your braces ever being placed on your teeth! Lightforce braces allow for a faster bonding experience and a more efficient treatment time. Ask us today about Lightforce technology! We’d love to introduce you to our digital orthodontic experience.

Most orthodontic treatment is performed when a child or teen has most of their adult teeth. Sometimes, though, it’s recommended to do early treatment to correct or modify an existing issue that either would make later treatment more difficult or that would compromise results.

Phase One

The primary goals of phase one treatment are the following:

  • Creating room for crowded, erupting teeth
  • Creating facial symmetry through influencing jaw growth
  • Reducing the risk of trauma to protruding front teeth
  • Preserving space for unerupted teeth
  • Reducing the need for tooth removal
  • Reducing treatment time with braces

Monitoring Phase

During this phase, we will monitor the growth and development of your child to determine if a second phase of orthodontic treatment is necessary. Your child will still have a select amount of baby teeth remaining and we will make sure the following permanent teeth erupt and develop in a regular fashion. Retainers are worn and adjusted to maintain the results from phase one treatment.

Phase Two

The primary goals of phase two treatment are the following:

  • Alignment of all of the permanent teeth in the mouth
  • Create an individualized place for each tooth
  • Create a balanced smile that enhances the facial features

Surgical orthodontics is a type of treatment that is completed in conjunction with an oral surgeon. This treatment is used for patients with severe malocclusions or bite patterns. This is typically a result of the positioning of the teeth, jaws, or facial pattern.

Frequently Asked Questions

How will I know if I am a candidate for surgical orthodontics?

Your orthodontist will review your records and explain orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery) as a treatment option. Depending on the severity of your bite you may be given multiple treatment options. Patients typically do not undergo surgical treatment until they are completed with growth (late teens).

What are the risks associated with surgery?

As with any medical procedure, orthognathic surgery comes with associated risks. This surgery has been performed for many years and is completed on a relatively regular basis. Your orthodontist and oral surgeon will complete a thorough medical history review prior to your procedure. We will answer any questions you may have.

What are the benefits of surgery?

Orthognathic surgery provides a significant impact on your ability to chew, function, and facial balance. Patients who undergo orthognathic surgery typically achieve a stable and healthy smile that makes them confident and proud!

Craniofacial orthodontics is a sub-specialty of orthodontics that focuses on the multi- and interdisciplinary needs of those patients born with craniofacial anomalies such as cleft lip and palate. Patients born with these anomalies typically require multiple medical and dental appointments for which care must be coordinated and appropriately sequenced.

Dr. Hall at Hallmark Orthodontics has completed a craniofacial, surgical, and special care fellowship and is trained to care for patients with special needs. She serves as a member of the craniofacial anomalies team at Riley Hospital for Children and is also the Director of Craniofacial Orthodontics at Indiana University. She is experienced in coordinating treatment timing and treatment plans for you or your child.
