What are We Drinking?

Sports drinks and energy drinks are a popular choice for hydration this time of year.  Did you know that many of these drinks are full of acid that can cause irreversible damage to your teeth?  A new study published in General Dentistry says 30-50% of teens use energy drinks and up to 62% drink sports drinks at least once per day.  The high levels of acid in these drinks cause the enamel of the teeth to erode and wear away.

What to Do?

Dr. Hall and the staff of Hallmark Orthodontics encourage our patients to limit their use of energy and sports drinks and try hydrating with water!  Tooth decay and erosion can be preventable with proper care.  Let’s keep your pearly whites looking great during your orthodontic treatment.
